Palazzo di Varignana and Fondazione Musica Insieme are pleased to present Varignana Music Festival, Bologna’s first summer classical music fest. An original format and refined musical programme offer an extraordinary line-up of internationally acclaimed artists performing against the backdrop of the Resort’s magical natural setting. The Varignana Music Festival is a truly unique experience. The enchanting landscape of the hills around Bologna is the setting for this series of chamber music concerts followed by dinner in the company of the artists.
The Festival brought to the Varignana stage major figures on the classical music scene, like Mischa Maisky, Mario Brunello, Janáček String Quartet, Antonio Meneses, Alexander Romanovsky, Ezio Bosso, Gustavo Zagrebelsky, Philippe Daverio and many others. The impressive line-up and excellent musical programme has definitely put the Varignana Music Festival on the European musical fest map.
2017 Edition | July, 7-15
The 4th edition of the Varignana Music Festival – from 7 to 15 July 2017 – once again will feature outstanding musicians and ensembles.
Patricia Kopatchinskaja has unfortunately been obliged to cancel her engagements with the Varignana Music Festival on account of illness. She will be replaced on July 13th and 14th by the internationally acclaimed pianist Beatrice Rana, to whom we are very grateful. Rana’ s two evening concerts will include well-known masterpieces: on 13th July, we will hear her play Schumann’s Quartet and Quintet, and on 14th July, she will join her fellow performers for Brahms’s Cello Sonata and Clarinet Trio. > DISCOVER MORE
